Brahmatal is a beautiful lake that starts from Lohajung base camp of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand Himalayas, the height of this trek is 12,250 feet, this trek is a good trek for the first-time trekkers. Brahmatal Trek is the truth that our Uttarakhand Dev Bhumi is said to be the reason that Gods have done severe penance here, so wherever you go in Uttarakhand, you will definitely hear the stories of Gods and Goddesses.
Here the trek starts from Kathgodam, this trek is about 5 nights 6 days. In this trek, we complete an elevation of about 4,678 feet from Lohajung to Brahmatal in 2 to 3 days, With Brahmatal, in addition, Bekaltal is the attraction of this trek hence, explore these two pristine glacial lakes and enjoy camping beside Bekaltal frozen shores. The sight of these two will surely feast your eyes through its natural beauty.
The best part about this trek is that you will get an unparalleled Himalayan view from the trek. You’ll trek through an evergreen forest filled with smooth wooded trees of Oaks and Rhododendrons and small gushing waterfalls.
- Itinerary
Activity details
- Trekkers will be picked up from Kathgodam Railway/Bus Station at 6 AM
- 230 km ride to Lohajung in a cab via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag
- Halt at the guest house/hotel in Lohajung.
- Dinner at Lohajung.
- A quick introduction with team members and fellow trekkers at the guest house
- Trek from Lohajung to Daldam after breakfast, trail comprising of forest with awesome views.
- The trail continues in gradual ascends
- Arrival at the campsite. Hot lunch at the campsite.
- Acclimatization walk and engagement activities around the campsite
- Evening refreshments followed by dinner
- The trek will pass through forests of Oak and Rhododendrons before opening up to large meadows of Telandi.
- Descend down from Jhandi top to Brahmatal
- Arrival at the campsite followed by lunch and rest.
- Evening walk and refreshment.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camps.
- Trek to Brahmatal Top from the campsite after the breakfast.
- Moderate to steep climb to Brahmatal top.
- Arrival at the summit point with Himalayan peaks like Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghuti, Mt. Chaukhambha, Nilgiri, Neelkanth in the backdrops.
- Rest and packed lunch at the Summit point.
- Descend back to Brahmatal campsite from the summit point.
- Arrival at the campsite followed by evening refreshments.
- Dinner and stay at the camps
- Trek to Lohajung from Brahmatal campsite after breakfast.
- Arrival at Lohajung around 2 PM
- Lunch followed by rest
- Departure from Lohajung to Kathgodam.
- 230 km ride back to Dehradun via Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag
- Expected time of arrival 8 P.M

There will be zero ATM facility at Lohajung. Kindly withdraw the money from your pickup points prior to your departures.
